The bad weather has resulted in some serious problems with the London network of transmitters which has resulted in lots of problems with radio reception in London – for us it means Reigate being off (from around 3am this morning). Guildford was also affected by a mains failure around the same time, which is now resolved. Crystal Palace has been on throughout.
As a consequence of all of this, it is possible you have experienced problems with reception.
Engineers are working on the London ring which will restore Reigate – we don’t have an ETA at the moment but outages of this nature are taken extremely seriously so we hope it won’t be too much longer.
Update: This is now resolved and Surrey is back to normal.
There were some short breaks to check the telemetry to the transmitter.
Essential transmitter maintenance will result in two short breaks of less than 15 seconds each on one day.
Two short breaks of no more than 15 seconds were required for essential maintenance.
Essential transmitter maintenance will result in reduced power, switching breaks and a loss of redundancy for up to two hours on two days.
The services were returned to their permanent feeds yesterday at around 6pm so there should be no further interruption to transmissions.
We’re currently having some problems with the connectivity of our services on the Wrexham, Chester and Liverpool multiplex. This may mean you’re unable to hear the stations on DAB at the moment. We’re currently working through the problem to put a solution in place.
23:50 – All stations should be audible. Some are working on backups and we’re looking to put things back to normal tomorrow.
There will be -6db reduced power and breaks (less than one hour) between the hours of 1000 and 1600.
