The PPA for Morecambe Bay covers 164,099 households.  Within this defined area, our multiplex covers 127,633 (77.8%) of these households. 

The current services being broadcast are:

• BBC Radio Cumbria (DAB+)
• Heart North Lancashire and Cumbria
• Smooth Radio Lake District
• Beyond Radio (DAB+)
• Fun Kids (DAB+)

We currently have room for additional stations to join the multiplex. If you represent a service that would like more information about joining, please submit the questionnaire at the bottom of this page.

This multiplex can carry services in both DAB and DAB+.

If there are any stations that you listen to at the moment on analogue radio that we do not broadcast, we suggest that you contact those stations directly, encouraging them to join the multiplex.

DAB Use

In Morecambe Bay, 68.3% of listeners tune in using DAB Digital Radio each week, this accounts for 43.6% of all radio listening.

Coverage

The multiplex broadcasts from transmitters at Windemere, Kendal, Morecambe Bay and Lancaster (outdoor coverage/indoor coverage).

Other transmitters may be launched during the licence term to enhance and increase coverage.

The multiplex is owned by MuxCo Cumbria Ltd, and launched on 1st December 2021.
